Environmental History
CSU Historian Mark Fiege's focus is on environmental history, a field which seeks to analyze past interactions between people and nature, including water. He teaches courses in American environmental history and the history of the American West. Among other projects, he has investigated the environmental history of irrigated agriculture in Idaho, and his research also encompasses historic water use in Colorado and other western American places.
